Grant requests provide 19 ways you can help
Would you like to help someone in need with rental assistance? How about help for a shelter which needs a new industrial stove? How about funding the salary of a staff person who helps shelter graduates find independent housing? These are just three of the 19 requests that the Foundation board would like to help fund this year. This fall, the REALTOR® Foundation received 29 requests for a total of $405,000. Fundraising efforts are in overdrive to make as many grant requests as possible a reality. You can make a difference today by donating to the REALTOR® Foundation Annual Fund! Donate today.

Kristie Smith makes fifth annual leadership gift
Each year since 2007, Kristie Smith has made the largest individual donation to the REALTOR® Foundation. Compelled by the story of a former resident at her first event, Kristie has made the Foundation one of her regular charitable donations. The impact of her gifts is truly remarkable: thousands have been touched by her generosity.

“Using my money to buy more stuff I don't need seems rather meaningless in this life,"says Kristie of her decision. "I give because there are people in need."

Most recently, Kristie made her 2011 donation at the Feed the Fight event during Foundation Awareness Week. Kristie has been a top agent with ERA Real Estate Links for nine years and manages her own team, The Indy Homes Team. The Foundation, and especially its grant recipients, thank Kristie for her support!

Centennial Celebration
January 21, 2012
You can kick off MIBOR’s Centennial year in no better way than at the Centennial Celebration this January. You may know it as 'The Ball' but this year the event takes on new life as, together, we celebrate all things 100. More entertainment, more surprises and 100 minutes of open bar await you. One thing hasn’t changed; all proceeds benefit the REALTOR® Foundation. Visit www.mibor.com/celebration to learn more and register.

Partners

Tom Wood Automotive Group
Thank you to Tom Wood Automotive Group for renewing their top-level sponsorship for three events in 2012! With a total value of $4,600, Tom Wood will sponsor the 2012 Centennial Celebration at the gold level, the 2012 Golf outing, and Foundation Awareness Week at the gold level.  While many companies have cut back in the recent economy, Tom Wood made a tremendous commitment with this sponsorship. Roger Keller, the COO of Tom Wood commented, “Tom Wood is proud to be a partner with the REALTOR® Foundation and with all REALTOR® partners for 2012. Tom Wood Automotive has been helping the greater Indianapolis area since 1967 providing Honor, Integrity, and Loyalty.” Thanks to MIBOR Affiliate member Brian Moore for continuing this relationship.

Adopt a Home
Thanks to 17 generous offices and groups, families who have moved into the Building a Living Legacy homes have been welcomed with gifts of household supplies and used furniture. The families have been incredibly grateful. Investors Titlecorp made the most recent ‘adoption’ to Terri, a woman who has four grown children, a 16 year-old son who lives with her, and a granddaughter. Terri really appreciated the welcome! Comments Joyce Scotten of Investors Titlecorp, “We were happy to pool our resources to help welcome Terri and her family to their new home. It was effortless and really makes such a difference!”

Thank you to all groups who have adopted a home on the Near Eastside: Keller Williams North, RE/MAX Select, F.C. Tucker (Keystone), Prudential Indiana Realty Group, Encore Sotheby’s, Northside Division of MIBOR, HamCo Division of MIBOR, Eastern Division of MIBOR, Carpenter, REALTORS® (Pike, Carmel), Access National Mortgage, RE/MAX at the Crossing, Women’s Council of REALTORS®, Investors Titlecorp. The following groups have pending adoptions: F.C. Tucker (N. Meridian), 2011 REAL Class, IREIBA and CENTURY 21 Scheetz Foundation.
