Do you have a website, a Facebook page, a Twitter account? If so, connect to the Foundation and help your friends do the same! Our goal is to spread the word that the Foundation’s mission to solve homelessness is one that will take all hands on deck! If you are a member of the real estate community or a business owner, you often ask for referrals for business. Now I am asking you for a referral to this cause.

Grant recipients submit mid-year reports
Nearly 1,000 homeless neighbors have been served this year through your generosity!
Overwhelmingly, while the grants have been well used, grant recipients report that the economy plagues their operations and the chances of their residents’ success. Cuts have affected services for residents in the last two years, and residents find themselves unemployed or underemployed despite the support from staff of the programs. Lori Stuck, Foundation Ambassador
Q: Why did you decide to become involved as a Foundation Ambassador?
I am a true believer in making a difference and touching people’s lives when they feel no one cares or they have lost hope! When I started working for Investors Titlecorp, Joyce Scotten told me about The REALTOR® Foundation and it truly moved me. I wanted to be part of such a wonderful cause.
Q: Talk about other charity events you’re involved with, including the softball tournament.
One charity event that I am proud to host is The Strike Out Cancer Benefit. I choose an alumnus from my school that has been stricken with cancer. I can’t change the fact they have cancer, but for one day I can help make a difference in their life. The Strike Out Cancer benefits consist of either softball, dodge ball or bowling. All participants and fans must bring a personal product that is donated to help The REALTOR® Foundation as in soap, toothpaste, diapers etc. It truly is an amazing day to see so many help make a difference.
Q: What do you like to do for fun?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love sports, and my favorite is softball! I have played for 31 years!

Partners

The National Bank of Indianapolis
The National Bank of Indianapolis is pleased to renew its annual support of the REALTOR® Foundation and its activities. During 2011, the Bank has already partnered with the Foundation as a sponsor of the Ball, and this year’s Grant Announcement Reception. They will also sponsor a luncheon later this year for the Foundation’s top supporters with a focus on planned gifts and estate planning. In addition, The National Bank of Indianapolis has made a significant pledge to the Building a Living Legacy: Centennial campaign.
"We are honored to continue this partnership with the REALTOR® Foundation because of our shared commitment to supporting our local community", said Ann Merkel, First Vice President and Manager of the Bank's Nonprofit Services division. "We believe that the Foundation's financial support of the people and organizations in our community who are committed to transitioning individuals from homelessness or inadequate, unsafe housing to permanent housing is critical in the fight against the serious problem of homelessness here in central Indiana. By partnering with the REALTOR® Foundation, The National Bank of Indianapolis is able to provide even greater financial support to our local community and to the fight against homelessness."
Thank you to the National Bank of Indianapolis for their continued support!

Hallmark Home Mortgage
While Hallmark Home Mortgage may be relatively new to the Indianapolis market, their loan officers and staff have a wealth of experience, with many coming from the former Waterfield Mortgage in Ft. Wayne.
Establishing the tradition of giving back to the community is as important as the business itself, according to Tom Hedderich , Senior Vice President and Branch Manager. He commented, “As a mortgage company, we believe it’s important to give back to the community and especially to the real estate community. The Foundation is an important charity in the real estate community."
This year, Hallmark participated in the golf outing by sponsoring two holes and donating toward the silent auction. Tom noted that while the day was certainly hot, he felt it was a great day for both golf and networking.
Thanks to Hallmark Home Mortgage for their new partnership with the Foundation!
