Building a Living Legacy
BUILDING A LIVING LEGACY PROJECT APPROACHES GOAL LINE; FUNDRAISING COMPLETE
On January 26, 2012, Mayor Greg Ballard, community leaders and REALTORS® gathered on the city’s Near Eastside to announce that the Building a Living Legacy initiative, part of the 2012 Indianapolis Super Bowl Housing Legacy Project, is nearly complete, with construction on 32 new and rehabilitated homes set to wrap up in the coming weeks.
Welcoming new residents to the neighborhood, project partners announced that all fundraising goals have been met for the initiative, totaling $4.5 million – including $500,000 donated by the REALTOR® Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Metropolitan Board of REALTORS®.
